Moving help - part time - ability to drive a plus

Part-time (5-10 hours/week) Furniture Mover/Driver needed. Potential for more hours eventually.

Since 2019 we have helped to furnish homes for close to 1,500 people in Boulder County, helping break the cycle of homelessness in our community and helping to prevent usable home furnishings from ending up in landfills. HomeAhead accepts gently used essential furniture and household items and distributes them to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness in Boulder County

We are in need of 1-2 strong, reliable folks to help move furniture. This position is a contract position (non-employee, no benefits). The rate of pay is $16 - $20/hr based on experience and skills. Payment is issued by check, twice monthly.

The schedule has some flexibility to accommodate the individual(s) hired. In general, the schedule involves working one or two, 2-4-hour shifts per week (for example, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 9 - noon or 1 - 4pm) - we may be able to shift these days/times to meet the needs of the person(s) hired.

Required skills:

Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs, including on stairs (with one other person helping ideally)

Speak and read basic English

Reliable transportation to and from our work sites (primarily Boulder and Longmont)

Must be reliable (otherwise our clients do not get furniture when they are counting on it)

Ability to work with sensitivity around clients with trauma history

Desired skills (not required):

Bilingual, Spanish/English

Ability to drive our 12-foot box truck (licensed, over 25 years of age)

Prior moving experience helpful

Prior experience working with those who have experienced homelessness is a plus
