Software Engineer
Benchling, Inc., in San Francisco, CA seeks multiple Software Engineers
Responsibilities: Responsible for working with engineering, product, and designing functions to build software products for life sciences process development customers of Benchling. The individual in this position will use their special knowledge in computer science, software engineering, and software programming languages to design, write, test, and deploy code. Software Engineers own software projects from end-to-end, from initial design to rollout, and implement software on a full-stack basis. Some of the specific duties of a Software Engineer include: analyzing user needs and developing software or solutions to meet the needs of those users; modifying existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces to improve software performance; verifying that new applications can be and are deployed safely; developing and establishing test environments and datasets to enable test automation; creating performance and stress testing frameworks to determine system performance and standards; maintaining the traceability of tests and ensuring they do not interfere with regular processes; and researching evolving test and automation trends, and advancing software technology. Salary range: $160,000 – 180,000.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer and Information Technology, or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 2 years of experience in the job offered or related. Specials skills include: 2 years of experience with JavaScript and Python, or similar programming languages; 2 years of experience with full-stack product development; 2 years of experience with technical system architecture, API’s, and database schemas; and 2 years of experience with evaluating software programs.
