Nursery Manager, Forest Seedlings

ABOUT THE ROLE:PRT, Windsor is seeking a full-time Forest Seedling Nursery Manager to be based in Williston, South Carolina. Leading the local management team, you will have the opportunity to work with the most innovative conifer seedling producer in the industry with a focus on our people, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement ensuring our Strategy execution is successfully aligned with operational plans and performance. As an accountable leader and proactive Manager, you will oversee all aspects of greenhouse and outdoor seedling production. You will lead an experienced team that takes pride in being the ultimate best in producing exceptional results for our customers. Your focus will include financial management, personnel development and leadership, continuous improvement activities, customer focus, overall site safety, and promotion of PRT. The driving force of implementation and execution of PRT’s Strategy is rooted in the personal core values of stewardship and safe-guarding of the well-being for our People, Customers, Assets, Environment, and Capital.Key Accountabilities of the Forest Seedling Nursery Manager:Ensure adherence to organizational health and safety programs through routine management, review, and follow-up proceduresDevelop and prioritize proposals for capital expenditures and projectsManage and supervise container seedling productionCreate production target plansImplement crop and work plansIdentify and assess crop damage, losses and reliability issuesPerform root-cause analysis with nursery personnel and develop solutionsKeep neat and accurate recordsManage labor forceIdentify training needsMentor, coach, and train nursery personnelEnsure adherence to legal and regulatory requirementsCorrespond with customersFollow and enforce safe work practicesEncourage innovation and continuous improvementPromote collaboration and teamwork at all levelsSet targets (i.e., production, timelines) and evaluate achievementMore Than Just a Job:This is your chance to make a tangible impact on our planet. There is lots to do in Aiken.  Aiken is known as a horse lover community with plenty horse farms with riding, hunter jumper riding and competitions, and lots of Polo.  There are many parks with trails, tennis and pickle courts. There are also lots of eateries to choose from.WORK STATUS: Full-time SalariedWeekdays and weekends as needed, especially during our busiest times of the year.
