We are seeking a Construction Manager to be responsible for managing construction and rehabilitation of Multimodal Transit and Rail Facilities infrastructure projects in and around Philadelphia and Northeastern Pennsylvania.

JMT is involved with an increasing number of large capital construction programs in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region. This opportunity is to support a major capital program with locations throughout Philadelphia and Northeastern Pennsylvania. The selected candidate will be required to operate in a dynamic environment as a direct extension of our client's staff and leverage their prior experiences delivering construction projects within time-sensitive schedules. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, communicate timely and accurately, and be experienced with multi-prime construction projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Maintain excellent relationships with clients, building users, designers, and contractors

Communicate and manage any and all issues and potential risks as they pertain to projects

Actively manage project schedule from inception to close out

Review contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specifications

Conduct weekly site reviews / meetings, create minutes, assign action items, and follow up

Upload and manage all pertinent project information to eBuilder or Unifier timely

Review and measure work in place and approve contractor monthly requisitions

Develop and implement collaborative solutions to project issues and problems

Audit and negotiate project related change orders and obtain approvals

Manage job work item turn over and close-out efficiently to meet owner/user expectations

Assist and Coordinate with 3rd party engineering and special inspections requirements

Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and jobs in an efficient manner

Ability to lead and grow project management and inspection team

The ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environment

Attention to detail and good organizational skills

Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, details, and specifications

Ability to think outside the box to solve complex issues with a sense of urgency

Ability to determine, recommend and implement corrective actions to overcome unanticipated issues, delays and challenges

A strong work ethic and a positive attitude

Microsoft Office and construction management software systems fluencyRequired Experience

Minimum of 15 +/- years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Construction Management Representative, or Construction Superintendent

Experience working with rail and transit agencies such as PATCO, SEPTA, NJ Transit and AMTRAK

Experience with rail and multimodal transit facilities construction and renovations

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management

Registered Professional Engineer (PE)

Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Preferred Experience

Project Management Professional (PMP)

ICET Level IV

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety training

Working Conditions

Work is 100% performed in a field (construction) environment. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required. Travel required.
