HR Generalist
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Manager, responsible for interviewing, testing and referring applicants for exempt and non-exempt positions throughout the Agency, ensuring the use of considerable skill in interviewing techniques, good knowledge of all functions, a basic understanding of the Agency’s organizational structure as well as good understanding of human resource policy and procedure and federal and state laws governing employment practices. Also ensures that the Agency credentialing program meets performance and procedural objectives and that credentialing functions are carried out. Work closely with HR team and support all functions as needed to ensure smooth functioning of the HR department, including functions not specifically listed below.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Plan and Manage Recruitment Activities for the entire Agency.
· Evaluate, plan and coordinate agency-wide recruiting program based on needs and direction of the Agency, including advertisement, preliminary screening interviews, pre-employment testing and document preparation.
· Conduct market research to ensure wage and salary program remain competitive.
· Plan, coordinate and attend internal and external job fairs.
· Plan, manage and coordinate the onboarding process for all new employees, including background screening, orientation, welcoming committee/kits, notification to the Agency and the Department, health insurance, etc.
· Perform exit interviews and/or ensure departing employees complete on-line exit interviews, and provide reports and analysis on feedback.
· Track recruitment efforts for all positions.
· Maintain and disseminate vacancy report as per schedule.
· Ensure agency recruitment efforts are up-to-date on website.
· Coordinate and track advertising activities that match costs to effectiveness of medium.
· Maintain statistical data on recruitment sources and generate monthly reports on employment activity, retention statistics and exit interviews.
· Continuously network with recruitment agencies and organizations to promote employment at the Agency.
· Provide feedback and information relative to recruitment and wage administration to management.
Assist in managing Human Resources for the Agency
· Collaborate with department Directors to create and maintain job descriptions for each position.
· Advise staff on human resource policies and procedures.
· Manage wage and salary administration, including salary surveys and reporting requirements.
· Respond to regulatory agency inquiries.
· Respond to staff inquiries according to procedure.
· Participate in departmental quality improvement projects.
· Assist with management of the HRIS system.
· Respond to audit inquiries in accordance with procedure.
· Assist in the coordination of special events activities according to schedule or as indicated.
Responsible For the Compilation and Generation of Reports and Documents.
· Prepare informational materials for distribution.
· Prepare reports for internal and external distribution
· Create and disseminate other reports as may be required from time to time
Attend Meetings and Seminars.
· Attend mandatory in service as indicated or assigned.
· Attend departmental meetings in accordance with schedule.
· Attend committee meetings as assigned or required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field or experiential equivalent
· Minimum 2 years experience as a human resource recruiter
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Excellent analytical skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
· Knowledge of Paylocity a plus
· Strong customer service ethic.
· Ability to objectively coach and counsel employees.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of all issues and staff.
SALARY: 50k-60k based on experience
