Permit Coordination Manager - Residential Construction

We are looking to fill an immediate opening for an in-office Permit Coordinator position; with the expectation that after approximately 3 months of training and experience within our office this candidate would transition to a Permit Coordination Manager position.

Our firm focuses on providing architectural plans for obtaining building permits on primarily residential remodeling and new-construction projects throughout the City of Chicago and surrounding Chicagoland.

Job Duties will include:

- Building permit document preparation, coordination, and processing

- Coordinating with clients and contractors to receive information and documentation required for obtaining building permits

- Submittal, processing, and correspondence with Building Departments for building permit submittals. (Expediting)

- Coordination with Building Departments for permit status & permit correction responses

- Tracking and monitoring permit status for multiple projects simultaneously

- General office tasks

Additional Duties after transition to Permit Coordination Manager:

- Management and oversight of Assistant Permit Coordinators (2-3 staff)

- Oversight and organization of all projects from the permit coordination perspective

Requirements for Qualified Candidates:

- Ability to work full time in our Downtown Chicago office location

- Ability to visit local municipalities/building departments in-person

- Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks at once

- Organized, reliable, detail orientated, and with good communication skills

- Ability to commit to deadlines

- 2+ years of experience with permit expediting in the City of Chicago and/or Chicagoland municipalities

Preferred Attributes for Candidates:

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience with the City of Chicago E-Plan and ProjectDox Systems

- Registered as a Permit Expediter with Chicago DOB
