Bar Futo is Hiring a Bar Manager
Bar Futo, a Japanese-inspired restaurant rooted in binchotan-fired cooking in the heart of Portland’s Old Port, is looking for a Bartender/Bar Manager. Job Responsibilities
Basic bartending duties, efficient balancing of bar guest needs and service bar
Manage liquor/bar dry goods inventory, including ordering and monthly inventory check
Maintain high level of organization and cleanliness of the bar area
Maintain quality and build upon current cocktail menu
Communicate with Bar/FOH team about changes to menu and inventory
Manage and coordinate bar prep with bar team
Perform MOD duties in absence of GM, including opening and closing of restaurant, addressing guest/employee concerns,
Contribute to a positive work environment
Qualifications/Experience
2 years minimum bar management experience
Creative mind, and ability to drive cocktail program in line with the goals of the restaurant
Ability and willingness to teach/train current and new bartenders everything from basic bartending technique to more complex prep tasks and cocktail creation
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended period (up to 12 hours)
Knowledge of sake/wine and Japanese ingredients/techniques is a plus
