The University seeks a dynamic, visionary leader who promotes excellence, cultural competence, academic and student engagement, internationalization, career and internship development, and entrepreneurial engagement. This is a grant-funded, 12-month position renewable each year for up to five (5) years. Master's degree required; doctoral degree preferred in education, counseling, public administration, or related fields from an accredited college or university
Minimum of five (5) yean of experience working with state or federally funded educational opportunity programs, academic support programs, or similar programs for underrepresented and first-generation college students
Minimum of three (3) yean of experience successfully managing (achieving grant deliverables) or having responsibility for grants which can include: applying for grants, monitoring compliance and reporting activities, monitoring budgets per applicable fiscal restraints, and maintaining grant records
Experience implementing innovative, culturally responsive, and inclusive instruction models and pedagogies that foster increased academic support for low-income, underrepresented students
Experience in staff supervision, program development, implementation, and evaluation
Training or experience in best practices and programming that improves the persistence, academic standing, and graduation rates of underrepresented and first-generation college students
Job Concepts
Reports directly to the Provost/VPAA
Work closely with Vice President for Student Experience and Executive Director of Academic and Advising Services, and assist with coordinating activities of the Advising Services Program Manager
Implement and monitor the day-to-day operations
Oversee achievement of all goals and deliverables outlined in the Elevate U grant
Ensure that NSU policies and procedures are established with grant personnel
Work closely with NSU's Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, and NSU's Director of Sponsored Programs Office
Reconcile the monthly budget statements and accounting records
Ensure all documents are stored properly
Maintain the Program database
Ensure all records are maintained for a minimum of three (3) years after the conclusion of each five-year funding cycle
Ensure all Personnel are recruited, hired, trained, and supervised and consistent with NSU policies and procedures
Provide general supervision and leadership for all Title III Activities
Ensure the President is informed of Program's progress and potential issues
Meet regularly with the Principal Investigator and Program staff to ensure Activities #1 and #2 are implemented and objectives accomplished
Supervise all subordinate Program staff to implement Title III Activities by stated timelines
Assist in institutionalizing Program activities into NSU's ongoing operations
