Job Description: Food Sourcing Driver
All employees and drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
This position was designed to promote food safety and includes the following responsibilities:
Employees must have/obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days of employment. Employees are also encouraged to be familiar with industry practices: CalRecycle California, the National Restaurant Association, etc. “Senate Bill 1383 mandates that Californians toss unused food, coffee grounds, egg shells, banana peels and other leftovers into bins they use for other “green” waste, such as garden trimmings, lawn clippings and leaves.” https://www.servsafe.com/
Drive safely to assigned stores
Take two helpers with you – shelter guests
Assist in loading food when necessary
Record and document food according to established protocols
Monitor all incoming food supplies and store safely accordinging to industry best practices.
Assist in monitoring temperatures
Avoid when possible sending any organic material to the landfill. See Senate Bill 1383.
Assist in keeping truck clean
Be cheerful, willing to help and educate others on food safety when possible.
Requirements:
Must have negative COVID-19 test
Must have negative TB test
Have a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record in order to drive company vehicles.
