RI Battery Exchange, Inc currently has an open position For an Automotive Battery Installer & Sales Service Associate. We are looking for an individual who can and will continue to grow with us and have an open-minded customer-focused attitude. Applicants must have basic auto mechanical knowledge and experience. We will provide all tools necessary for the position.

Who we decide to hire will be a dedicated and versatile individual best suited for a hybrid position that combines customer service, battery installation, and point-of-sale (POS) transaction operations (cashing out customers) to harmonize with our company’s mission to provide Trusted Power Guaranteed.

Store Hours: 8:00am -4:30pm (Mon – Fri) Saturday hours (half day)

Full Time or Part Time Position Available

Position Overview:

As an Automotive Battery Installer, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the daily operations of our retail battery sales and service station. This position is ideal for candidates with a basic auto mechanical knowledge and experience who are eager to provide excellent customer service and ensure the smooth installation and maintenance of batteries. You will be responsible for testing, installing, and maintaining car batteries, while also assisting customers with their inquiries and transactions. This hybrid role requires a dedicated individual who can seamlessly blend technical expertise with outstanding interpersonal skills, ensuring customer satisfaction and contributing to the overall success of our store. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing an excellent customer experience while efficiently completing technical and diagnostic tasks. Candidates must demonstrate a high-quality honest work ethic, a strong attention to detail, neat appearance, friendly demeanor and a willingness to evolve with the company as part of a team.

Position Overview

Our assistant manager position in the company plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the store and service center. They support the General Manager in various aspects, including customer service, inventory management, sales, and staff supervision.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

Provide exemplary customer service and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.

Assist customers in selecting automotive products and services that best meet their needs.

Ensure that the customer experience is positive and exceeds expectations.

Sales and Marketing

Support the General Manager in developing and implementing sales strategies to meet sales targets.

Monitor sales performance and provide feedback to the team.

Assist in organizing promotional events and marketing activities to boost sales.

Inventory Management

Oversee the ordering, receiving, and stocking of automotive products.

Ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet customer demand without overstocking.

Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate records.

Staff Supervision

Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring new employees.

Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure a high level of performance.

Schedule shifts and manage staff attendance to ensure adequate coverage at all times.

Operations Management

Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Implement and enforce store policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.

Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Financial Management

Assist in managing the store's budget and controlling expenses.

Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.

Prepare financial reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Customer Relations

Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.

Address and resolve any customer concerns or complaints in a timely manner.

Foster a customer-focused culture within the store to enhance customer loyalty.

Professional Development

Stay updated with industry trends and product knowledge.

Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

Encourage staff to pursue professional development opportunities.

Additional Key Responsibilities:

Testing: Test old and new batteries to determine their condition and performance

Installation: Efficiently install car batteries in various vehicle types, ensuring proper fit and connection with precision and attention to safety.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspection of batteries to ensure optimal performance & provide expert advice on battery maintenance and related services. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the garage area and the retail store.

Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and customers.

Inventory Management & Control: Assist in deliveries and manage battery inventory, restocking shelves, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Customer Service: Greet and assist customers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming and informative experience.

Sales: handle over the phone or in person customer inquiries to diagnose and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Operate POS system to process transactions accurately and efficiently and work closely with the sales team.

Aptitude in using various tools and equipment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent / additional education preferred.

Previous experience in automotive sales & repair or battery installation is preferred.

Strong technical skills and mechanical aptitude.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Must have the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle a variety of tasks (waiting on customers, answering phone calls and cashing out customers).

Must be curious by nature and willing to learn to ask specific problem solving questions.

Valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record are required.

Reliable transportation, with current Insurance policy in force on the vehicle.

Physical Requirements

Frequently moves heavy batteries (up to 50 lbs) daily.

Will need to move frequently about inside the store and in the garage to complete installations and sell our products.

Working in various weather conditions in an open garage area.

This position requires the candidate to ascend/descend stairs to provide service to our customers.

Must be able to exchange accurate information over a land line phone and in person with customers.
