DIRECTOR OF MTSS AND INTERVENTION Full-time, 12-month, Probationary Position Starting as soon as possible Benefits provided include paid leave time, NY State retirement, health/dental insurance options. K-12 Director of MTSS and Intervention 12-Month Administrative PositionQualificationsNew York State Certification as a Building and/or School District Administrator.Preferred QualificationsNew York State Reading and/or Special Education Certification Demonstrated teaching ability in working with K through 12 students.Reports To:Assistant Superintendent for InstructionJob Goals:1) Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the K through 12 MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support), intervention, ENL (English as a New Language), and Enrichment programs per State and District standards and policies.2) The K-12 Director of MTSS and Intervention provides instructional leadership while developing aligned systems and structures to monitor student progress with the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Building Principals.3) To strive for quality and promote pride in all District endeavors. To fulfill the Mission of the District.Responsibilities:1) Directs the activities of the District’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) structure in conjunction with Building Principals and Building Guiding Coalitions on all MTSS-related activities. This includes oversight of Interventionists and Instructional Support Teachers (IST) K-122.) Directs and coordinates planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of K through 12 reading and mathematics intervention programs with appropriate personnel.3) Collaborates with other administrative personnel in providing an effective and economical program of instruction.4) Provides effective communication among grades, buildings, administrators, and the public5) Assists in coordinating and/or providing a comprehensive in-service program. In addition, coordinates and facilitates student progress reviews across grade levels6.) Assists staff in coordinating and implementing comprehensive ENL (English as a New Language) and Enrichment programming across grade levels.7) Keeps the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Building Principals advised of program needs and promptly informs them of all major problems.8) Attends meetings relevant to curricula areas and responsibilities.9) Stay abreast of the latest research, trends, and developments in these fields.10) Update the District’s MTSS plan annually in consultation with Building Principals and the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.11) Works collaboratively with District administrative personnel to identify instructional priorities that have budgetary implications. Establishes budget priorities to present to Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Building Principals.12) Participates in the selection of new personnel.13) Encourages experimental and innovative programs that will improve instruction as demonstrated by improved student achievement.14) Assists Building Principals and Director of Data Coordination in assessing and evaluating program effectiveness and the impact on improved student achievement. This includes supporting the use of universal screeners and progress monitoring tools.15.) Responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of extended school year programming (summer reading and Math) for general education students as selected by predetermined criteria for Grades K-516) Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools (or designee), Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and the Board of Education.Evaluation:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction in accordance with Board policy.Terms of Employment:In accordance with the terms and conditions of the negotiated agreement with the Administrative Association.Job QualificationsNew York State Certification Required: School District Leader (SDL) or School Administrator Supervisor (SAS) Additional Certification Preferred: NYS Reading and/or Special Education Application Deadline:03/29/2025Job Number: 03172025DirMTSSandInt
