Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Operates advanced or more sophisticated machinery in the paint shop to build truck assemblies for railcars
Operates machinery to move truck assemblies through the paint shop
Operates forklift and overhead cranes to move material into position to build truck assemblies
Ensures that equipment is maintained and operating properly before beginning work
Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained
QualificationsThe following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.Minimum Qualifications
6+ months experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery
Ability to be fit-tested and wear a respirator in the areas where respirator use is required
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and work instructions
Ability to use a computer
Ability to work in a team or independently
Ability to obtain in-house forklift certification
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency test/GED
1+ years experience operating various types of machinery

This position is in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving railcars and machinery, and trip hazards where head, hearing, eye, and foot protection including composite toed safety shoes, are required.
This position will be exposed to hazardous chemicals which requires the use of a blast suit, gloves, and wearing a respirator.
For Safety purposes, employees must be clean-shaven when wearing a respirator.
Additional personal protective equipment may be required as determined by the environment.
This position may be required to work at heights of 20 ft or within confined spaces.
