Flooring Installer/Refinisher Needed

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardwood Floor Installer & Refinisher to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, sanding, staining, and finishing solid hardwood floors in residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate has experience in flooring installation, surface preparation, and refinishing techniques, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Installation:

Measure and prepare subfloors for hardwood installation.

Install solid and engineered hardwood flooring using various techniques (nail-down, glue-down, floating).

Cut and fit wood flooring around obstacles, ensuring a precise and seamless appearance.

Apply adhesives and underlayment as needed.

Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and client specifications.

Refinishing & Restoration:

Sand existing hardwood floors to remove old finishes, scratches, and imperfections.

Apply stains, sealers, and protective finishes to achieve the desired look and durability.

Repair or replace damaged sections of flooring as needed.

Buff and polish floors for a smooth, high-quality finish.

General Responsibilities:

Use and maintain tools and equipment, including sanders, saws, nailers, and finishing applicators.

Ensure job sites are clean and organized before, during, and after work.

Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors.

Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.

Provide accurate time and material estimates when needed.

Requirements:

Previous experience in hardwood floor installation and refinishing (preferred).

Knowledge of various wood species and their finishing properties.

Ability to operate flooring tools and equipment safely and efficiently.

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, kneel, and work in various environments.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for travel to job sites).

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in hardwood flooring installation or refinishing.

Experience with custom inlays, borders, and decorative flooring patterns.

Knowledge of eco-friendly finishing techniques and materials.
