- Candidate is expected to support our government client in creating secure AWS deployments and innovative cloud solutions.
- The Cloud Engineer should be able to design and execute security architecture blueprints and bring it to reality with a DevSecOps mindset & culture.
- Candidate should be able to build and configure build plans, code pipelines and create automated solutions that can be frame worked and re-used.
- Finally, the candidate should become a subject matter expert and evangelize the latest technologies and tools to provide better efficiency and solution to other teams.
- Candidate should understand the AWS security architecture best practices and be able to articulate them to the customer as they relate to the customer's AWS implementations.
- Candidate also needs to understand AWS logging capabilities and use of a Splunk SIEM solution to aggregate and alert on cloud security anomalies.
- An understanding of change management approaches for AWS IaaS configurations is also needed.
- This is a "hands-on" position which requires the Candidate to have solid experience configuring AWS services, configuration Splunk to ingest AWS log data, and writing "glueware" (Python, etc.) to handle ingest and process AWS log data and AWS configuration data.
- Candidate must be able to provide "keystroke" level documentation of the clients recommended AWS logging and configuration data integration approach to the customer which will be used by DoJ components.
- 10 years experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline
- 2 years experience with Public Cloud architecture such as Azure or AWS.
- 5 years experience with Security Architecture, NIST 800-53 security controls preparing A&A system documentation.
- Experience with DISA STIG configuration requirements
- Ability to administer a cloud environment such as Azure or AWS.
- AWS Architect, Developer, or System Admin certified
- Demonstrable experience working with AWS Security, Identity, and Compliance solutions such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS web application firewall (WAF), AWS Key Management Service (KMS), and AWS Firewall Manager.
- Active Secret clearance
- Desired Certs: CISSP or similar security certification
- Experience: Public Cloud - 2 years, Security Architecture - 5 years
- Active Top Secret clearance
