Position Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Remote Solar Technician to support our growing service and installation teams. This role provides remote troubleshooting and technical assistance for residential solar PV systems, battery systems, and energy-related home equipment. You’ll be working closely with field technicians, electricians, and project managers to ensure system performance and customer satisfaction—all from the comfort of your home (or favorite coffee shop with Wi-Fi).
Key Responsibilities:
Remotely troubleshoot residential photovoltaic (PV) systems using monitoring software
Guide field teams through diagnostics and corrective actions via phone or messaging
Monitor battery storage systems and perform remote commissioning tasks
Update internal records and service logs via company software
Identify recurring issues and recommend process or system improvements
Provide remote support to customer care and project teams when technical questions arise
Maintain a high level of product knowledge and stay current on evolving technologies
Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and, occasionally, homeowners
Required Qualifications:
1+ year experience in solar, electrical, or technical troubleshooting
Basic electrical knowledge and familiarity with PV systems and monitoring tools
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Tech proficiency (comfort using apps, platforms, and remote access tools)
Positive attitude and team-first mindset
Reliable internet connection and dedicated work setup
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Enphase, SolarEdge, or Tesla Powerwall monitoring platforms
NABCEP certification or solar installation/service background
Familiarity with residential construction workflows
