In addition, we immerse our employees in a hard-working, collegial and cooperative culture with the opportunity to become a shareholder in the firm.Job DescriptionThe Future of Energy Experts will address regulatory and utility business models, intergration and value of distributed energy resources ("VDER"), pricing and rate design, and financial issues in the electric industry to support our practice area and our advisory, litigation, and M&A services. We are looking for several experts in the Future of Energy space including the following types of roles:Thought Leadership Expert - related to future business models, regulatory frameworks, and the role of innovation and technology in delivering sustainable value to customers and regional economies; Seeking individuals who have several years experience in the Future of Energy and provide thought leadership - writing whitepapers, speaking at conferences and events, or currently leading and managing a practice area of his/her own in this space.

Emerging Technologies Expert - deep knowledge of energy storage, electric vehicles, smart communities and smart homes, smart meters and micro grids, distributed generation, and energy efficiency with an understanding of economic drivers from the perspectives of customers, distributed energy resource developers, utilities, and policy makers.

Pricing and Rate Design Expert - testifying experience addressing time-varying rate designs, innovative rate structures, and pricing of new products and services.

Market Services Expert - including customer engagement, new products and services, and associated business model and regulatory frameworks.

Data Analytics Leader - will oversee modeling efforts to inform policy evaluation, new product and service development, technology and business model assessments, rate designs, and our M&A engagements.

QualificationsIdeally 10+ years experience in the utility and energy industries with deep knowledge of the Future of Energy and one of the above specialty areas. Candidates with less than 10 years experience will be considered with a strong academic background and 5+ years experience in one of the above specialty areas.

Consulting experience highly desired

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree or PhD highly desired

Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically to client sites, speaking engagements, and/or hearings typically throughout the United States and Canada. For certain positions, travel could be 50-75% of the time.
