Shipping Associate (Hourly)
Position Summary
The Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing, packaging, labelling, and shipping customer orders accurately and efficiently. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments meet company quality standards and customer delivery requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
Verify that all items are correct, undamaged, and match the packing list or sales order.
Create and print shipping labels using company software and carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.).
Palletize and shrink-wrap orders for freight shipments when necessary.
Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified).
Maintain accurate shipping records and ensure all documentation is completed and filed properly.
Inspect packaging for quality, ensuring compliance with company and customer standards.
Communicate with customer service, production, and warehouse teams to coordinate timely order fulfillment.
Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Previous shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment (pallet jack, forklift a plus).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping systems/software.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: Full-time, hourly position (typical schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime as needed).
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
