Lead Housekeeper - Private Residence

We are currently assisting our client, a private family office, with their search for a Lead Housekeeper.

JOB SUMMARY:

Purpose of role:

This position plays a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining household supply inventories, pet maintenance and care, and light food preparation for two properties. They will manage and maintain the cleanliness and organization of private residences, develop best practices, and take ownership of all housekeeping needs. This role reports to the Estate Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Housekeeping:

Work closely with the Estate Manager to develop a housekeeping routine and plan to maintain households as “turnkey” standard at all times.

Maintain and adjust housekeeping schedule with oversight from Estate Manager.

Assign and oversee housekeeping vendors before, during, and after the cleaning process.

Assess and report on performance of housekeeping staff and or vendors. Identify issues and any opportunities for improvement and discuss with Estate Manager.

Perform walkthroughs of the households to identify any inventory and cleaning needs.

Perform quality checks through the day on all housekeeping areas for both households to make sure vendors completed tasks according to the high standard.

Communicate frequently with the Estate Manager to keep household running smoothly for principals and guests with minimal interruptions.

Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and tools and restock and report deficiencies to Estate Manager.

Maintain and restock food inventory for all areas including kitchen, bar, cabana, and theater.

Maintain clean linens in all areas and schedule cleaning and replacements as necessary.

Maintain sanitary bathrooms daily.

Prepare recreational spaces for massage or coaching sessions daily.

Coordinate with Estate Manager to prepare households for guests as necessary.

Inventory linens and replace deficient linens as necessary.

Troubleshoot potential issues and report to Estate Manager.

Pet Care and maintenance including:

Feed and groom pets twice a day.

Clean pet dishes and remove pet hair from all surfaces.

Organize pet supplies and toys and restock deficiencies. General: Meet emergencies/unexpected changes with grace and flexibility.

Required Experience and Education:

Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.

Must be highly proficient in all aspects of personal computing, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

3-5 years’ experience housekeeping in private residences.

A demonstrated understanding of effective cleaning procedures, industry standards, and best practices in housekeeping is essential. This includes knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and techniques.

Ensure cleanliness standards are met consistently and that no details are overlooked in the cleaning process.

Strong organizational skills including ability to prioritize work, delegate tasks, and ensure efficiency.

Ability to clearly communicate with the housekeeping team, other staff members, and sometimes with the homeowners or guests. This includes providing instructions, receiving feedback, and addressing any issues that arise.

Adept at identifying and resolving issues related to cleaning, maintenance, or staff performance.

Knowledge of various cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies.

Understanding of Safety protocols ensuring that the housekeeping team operates in a safe and secure manner. Drive and passion to learn, as well as the ability to assume responsibility and create solutions to problems.

This job may require pulling and pushing of objects up to 80 lbs., with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing 25 lbs. or more.

Other physical demands that may be required are stooping, and/or kneeling, climbing, reaching, and balancing.

Fluent in Spanish and English preferred.

Compensation & Benefits: Competitive pay depending on experience. Consistent with applicable pay transparency laws, the employer provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in the relevant location. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of things including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The starting pay for this position is between $40 and $55/hour. The employer also provides well-being programs including medical, dental and vision benefits, life insurance, and paid time-off.
