Marine Mechanic and Marina Yard Helper Wanted (Year Round Work)
MARINE MECHANIC & YARD HELP WANTED – FULL-TIME / PART-TIME (YEAR-ROUND WORK)
We are a busy, year-round marine repair shop looking to add two dependable people to our team: a Marine Mechanic and a Yard/Shop Helper. If you enjoy working around boats, staying hands-on, and being part of a small, hardworking crew, we’d like to hear from you.
1. MARINE MECHANIC
What you’ll do:
Diagnose and repair outboards, inboards, and stern drives (Yamaha, Mercury, MerCruiser, Volvo, etc.)
Handle routine maintenance: tune-ups, oil changes, winterizing, spring commissioning
Work on electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and cooling systems
Install and service bilge pumps, steering, controls, trim/tilt, and other components
Use diagnostic tools/software
Keep accurate service notes and follow shop safety standards
What we’re looking for:
Minimum 2 years marine mechanic or strong mechanical background
Knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics
Must have your own basic hand tools and reliable transportation
Manufacturer certifications (Yamaha, Mercury, ABYC) are a plus
Experience with diesels or generators is a bonus
2. YARD HELPER
What you’ll do:
Help block boats
Clean and polish boats
Assist with light mechanical work
Keep the shop and vehicles clean and organized
Shrink-wrap boats and remove shrink-wrap
Assist with rigging and general shop tasks
Maintain tools and help with daily operations
What we’re looking for:
Mechanical knowledge is helpful but not required
Experience in a helper or labor role is a plus
Must be reliable, willing to learn, and able to work well with a team
Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
PAY & SCHEDULE
Pay based on experience (Mechanic and Helper rates vary).
Full-time or part-time positions available.
Year-round work.
