Retail Sales & Local Marketing – Formalwear Boutique (Mineola)
Compensation:
$18–$22 per hour (depending on experience)
Employment type: Full-time (5 days/week)
Lara New York is opening a new formalwear boutique in Mineola and are looking for someone who loves sales, fashion, and people—but can also help with marketing and growing the store locally and helping the brand grow online.
This is a great role for someone who wants to be the face of the store in the community and also stay involved in social media, email/text marketing, and influencer outreach.
Store Hours
Monday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Friday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
You will be scheduled 5 days per week and can choose the 5 days that work best for you from the open days above (Tuesday is always off). Ideally, at least one weekend day. Thursday is mandatory.
What You’ll Be Doing
In-Store Sales & Customer Service
-Greet customers and give a friendly, elevated shopping experience
-Help customers find the right dresses/outfits, upsell accessories, and close sales
-Build relationships with repeat customers and VIPs
-Keep the store looking clean, organized, and merchandised
Local Marketing & Community Outreach
-Come up with ideas to bring people into the store (events, try-on parties, trunk shows, etc.)
-Connect with local schools, event venues, bridal businesses, photographers, salons, and other shops
-Pass out flyers, build local partnerships, and represent the store in the neighborhood
-Help grow our email/SMS list and local customer base
Online & Agency Coordination
-Work with our marketing agency that handles social media, email, and text campaigns
-Share new arrivals, promos, photos, and in-store updates with the agency
-Help with influencer outreach (finding local creators, scheduling try-ons, content days, etc.)
-Give feedback on what customers are asking for so our online marketing matches the store
Who We’re Looking For
-Local to Mineola / Nassau County and understands the area
-Strong people skills – comfortable talking to customers and starting conversations
-At least 1–2 years of retail sales, customer service, or boutique experience
-Interested in marketing (social media, events, influencers, email/text, etc.)
-Proactive – you don’t wait to be told what to do, you bring ideas and follow through
-Reliable, organized, and comfortable working evenings (Thursdays) and weekends during busy seasons
-Must be able to lift boxes that weighing up to 30-40lbs and ability to be on your feet for extended periods
Bonus if you have:
-Fashion, bridal, prom, or formalwear experience
-Experience working with influencers or a marketing agency
-Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and email/SMS marketing
Schedule & Location
-Full-time – 5 days per week (you choose the 5 days that work best for you within store hours)
