General Paint and Scenic Painters
GENERAL PAINTER:
- Prepping a wide range of material types.
- Painting and spraying a wide range of material types.
- Knowledgeable of various painting techniques, spraying techniques
- Knowledge of various faux paint finishes, processes, tools, and equipment ·
- Ability to maintain and stay on schedule. ·
- Ability to bring your own tools
SCENIC PAINTERS:
- Interpretation: Understand and execute design renderings from scenic/set designers.
- Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, prime, and fill surfaces for painting.
- Painting Techniques: Apply various finishes, textures (stippling, sponging, graining), and aging effects (distressing).
- Mixing: Mix paints and textures to match specific color and effect requirements.
- Material Knowledge: Work with various materials like wood, metal, foam, and fabrics.
- Collaboration: Work with designers, technical directors, and production managers.
SUPERVISOR/LEAD SCENIC ROLL:
- Supervision (for Senior Roles): Lead paint staff and interns, manage workflow, and monitor progress.
- Maintenance: Keep the workspace organized and stocked; create touch-up kits.

- Strong artistic eye and understanding of color theory.
- Proficiency in various painting and texturing techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
