Dog Trainer Needed – Flexible Hours – We Provide the Clients
Karma Dog Training, founded in 2004, is looking for a kind and reliable dog lover in the Santa Monica and Westside area who would like to become an independent contractor dog trainer. We use only positive-reinforcement methods and are looking for someone who enjoys helping both dogs and their owners build healthy habits in a calm, encouraging way.
This position offers complete scheduling flexibility. You choose when you want to work. We provide a steady flow of clients throughout Santa Monica, Venice, Brentwood, West LA, the Palisades, Mar Vista, and nearby areas. You do not need to be a certified trainer. What matters most is your temperament, communication skills, and willingness to learn our approach.
The work is meaningful and rewarding. You’ll help families with early puppy development, basic obedience, polite greeting rituals, leash manners, recall training, socialization, and creating calmer behavior in real-world environments. Many Westside families appreciate thoughtful guidance and a warm teaching style.
We welcome applicants with any dog-related experience, including daycare, rescue work, boarding, fostering, dog walking, grooming, vet clinics, or past training experience. You should be dependable, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate clearly and kindly with clients. A positive-reinforcement mindset is important. Reliable transportation is required.
Pay ranges from $35 to $75 per hour depending on experience, skill level, and the types of programs you handle. Income varies based on your availability and how many clients you choose to take on.
