Our firm, located in Mission Valley, is looking for someone to assist with income tax return preparation. Hours are flexible (35-40 hours per week) M-S. Besides Lacerte, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are used frequently in this position.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and complete accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses

- Gather and analyze W-2 and 1099 information and documents to ensure compliance with tax laws

- Identify potential tax credits, deductions, and exemptions for clients to maximize refunds

- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations

- Utilize Lacerte Tax software and Smart Vault to input and organize financial data

Requirements:

- At least 2 years of Lacerte experience is required

- Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements

- Proficient in keyboarding and 10-key by touch and willingness to learn new concepts

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
