Life Enrichment Coordinator

Starting at $18.73 an hour / based on experience

Available Schedule (Subject to Change):

Part Time / Monday, Tuesday, Thursday / 7:00am-3:30pm

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Ancillary Services Manager, schedules transportation needs for residents, including dispatching drivers and managing daily logistics for transporting residents in a timely and cost efficient way. Assist with driving duties as needed.

Brief Overview of Major Duties:

-Schedules and inputs transportation requests placed by residents and/or staff into Worxhub.

-Dispatch drivers in the most expedient and efficient manner possible. Ensure residents are picked up in a timely manner. -Communicate any changes/delays with the appropriate scheduler, Caregiver, or resident. Develop familiarity with frequently used locations and resident preferences/needs to provide better service.

-Welcome residents and guests at the front entry gate. Provide directions on parking, check-in procedures, and location map. Notify the appropriate department that a vendor or visitor is on campus as needed.

-Maintain trip data in Worxhub, monitor vehicle maintenance needs, record transportation charges to residents and communicate those charges to the Accounting Department.

-Provide transportation to residents to and from hospitals, doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, sponsored excursions, and other outings.

-Maintain radio contact with dispatcher for delivery instructions.

-Fuel and clean vehicle as needed, responsible for routine maintenance, servicing and repairs of vehicles.

-Ensure residents have seat belts fastened properly and wheelchair brakes are locked and secured in place.

-Follow all applicable traffic and vehicular safety rules and regulations.

-When necessary, lifts, moves, and transports residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.

-Follow facility policy and procedure for reporting and documenting any incidents/accidents or variances of standard operations.

-Able to work within a time schedule with minimal supervision.

-Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

-Must be 21 years of age.

-Must be able to multi-task in a high-paced environment and have excellent organizational skills.

-Has excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

-Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel, Outlook and Internet.

-Ability to work with spreadsheets and other software tracking programs.

-Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment.

-Must be a person of integrity and a team player.

-Ability to read maps and locate addresses.

-Follow written and oral instructions.

-Reaction time - The ability to quickly respond (with hand, finger, or foot) to one signal (sound, light, picture, etc.) when it appears.

-Far and Near Vision – The ability to see things close at hand (such as signs) or at a distance.

-Operation and Control – Controlling operations of equipment.

-Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.

-Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies.

-Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests.

Education and Experience:

-Preferably has a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

-Has experience in dispatching and scheduling.

-Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in a commercial driving position or driving position in a senior community.

Licenses and Certifications:

-Has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.

-Has CPR certification and First Aid certification card or can obtain them within 30 days of hire.

-Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire.

-Preferably possess a valid CDL C driver’s license with P (passenger endorsement).

-If applicable, has a Certificate of Completion for memory care services training or obtains within 30 days of hire and complies with annual certification requirements.

Physical Requirements:

-Must carry/lift/push or pull loads of up to 25 pounds.

-May need to operate a fire extinguisher.

-Is able to assist in evacuation procedures.

Essential Functions:

-Physical: climbing to include legs and arms, kneeling, lifting/moving, carrying/transporting, sitting/stationary position, standing/stationary position, bending, reaching forward and above shoulder level, pulling, pushing, fine manipulation (pen, using a mouse), gross/total manipulation (firm hand grasping, twisting), twisting, stooping

-Cognitive: directing others, written and oral communication, work under time constraints, concentrate amid distractions, math/calculations, ensure accuracy of details, creativity, remember names and details, problem solve, make decisions, work rapidly, examine/observe details, analytical ability, work within minimal errors, reason (make sense of things)
