Home Health Care Aide Caregiver, $25 to $29 per hour
Maryland, Baltimore , 21240 Baltimore USA

TO BE CONSIDERED, you must first respond to all 8 items in this ad

We need aides to care for our 40 year old son. He has cerebral palsy and is in wheelchair. He needs full care (showering, toileting, meal prep, etc) Keep in mind that we hope this employment is long term (because we don't want a lot of turnover), so this hiring process is important.

These are the approximate shifts that need to be filled:

Weekly: Monday 7:00am thru 7:00pm (12 hours)

Weekly: Tuesday 7:00am thru 7:00pm (12 hours)

Weekly: Friday at 7:00pm thru Saturday at 11:00am (16 hours)

Weekly: Saturday at 7:00pm thru Sunday at 11:00am (16 hours)

Item #1: Which of these shifts are you available, and times, if not exactly as shown?

Living near Fells Point is a plus, because it minimizes transportation problems when there is snowy and icy weather.

Item #2: So, let us know your address (or major cross streets).

Item #3: Please describe any paid experience with assisting the disabled or elderly.

The job will require a person who is strong to do Pivot Transfers. Our son is a quadriplegic and can only weight bear with assistance. He is about 150 pounds. Doing pivot transfers can eliminate heavy lifting. This is important for the safety of the aide and our son. On a daily basis, there are 5-6 transfers.

Item #4: So, let us know if you are strong enough and this is okay with you.

Item #5: For day shifts, set us know if you feel comfortable with driving him in his Full Size van.

Item #6: Let us know if you are okay with a small dog visiting or staying over once in a while.

For Day shifts, the job will require some creative thinking to take him out into the community for various types of social events. Examples are the typical ones like bowling and the movies, but also fishing, local festivals, library events, etc. We don’t want him sitting at home. He is easy to please.

Item #7: So, let us know if that is okay with you.

Item #8: Include two employment references. Personal references are also helpful.

NOTE: You will need to go thru a Maryland State hiring process that includes fingerprinting, background check and CPR training. Drug testing is a possibility. (this process takes about 4 weeks before you can start working)

Thank you.
