Job Summary:
The Shipping / Warehouse Manager oversees daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping. This role ensures accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of products while maintaining inventory accuracy, safety standards, and efficient workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily shipping and warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and order dispatch.
Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
Maintain regular communication with shipping company account managers and negotiate shipping rates.
Audit shipping carrier invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies.
Oversee inventory control, stock levels, and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
Develop and enforce warehouse procedures, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
Supervise, train, and schedule warehouse and shipping staff.
Resolve shipping issues, delays, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Monitor shipping costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of products.
Collaborate with customer service, sales, and management teams to support business needs.
Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and equipment functionality.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in warehouse, shipping, or logistics management.
Strong knowledge of shipping carriers, freight options, and fulfillment processes.
Experience with inventory management systems and shipping software.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with warehouse equipment.
Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
Experience managing budgets and negotiating shipping rates.
Work Environment:
This role operates primarily in a warehouse setting and may require lifting, standing for extended periods, and occasional overtime during peak seasons.
