Position Summary
The Electrical Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems while delivering excellent customer service. This role requires strong technical skills, clear communication, and the ability to work independently in the field.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair electrical issues in commercial and residential environments
Perform service upgrades, lighting repairs, panel work, and equipment troubleshooting
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes
Communicate findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers clearly and professionally
Complete service documentation accurately and timely
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and jobsite cleanliness
Follow all safety procedures and comply with California electrical codes and company policies
Participate in on-call rotation as required
Qualifications
Minimum 5-7 years of electrical service experience
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of the California Electrical Code (CEC)
Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Professional appearance and strong customer service skills
Journeyman certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
Must be able to pass background check
Preferred Skills
Experience with commercial service work
Knowledge of lighting control systems, generators, or EV chargers
Tablet or mobile service software experience
