Administrative/Bookkeeper

Full time in office

Mohawk Army Navy is a locally owned family business spanning over four counties. They cater to the working class by providing quality name brand work apparel and footwear at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities

Management of financial data for 5 entities. Recording, posting, and maintaining all financial transactions, general ledger entries.

Preparing Monthly & Quarterly Sales Tax Returns.

Reconciling bank statements, credit cards, and other accounts, resolving discrepancies.

Intercompany billing, reconciliation & journal entries.

Managing all aspects of both Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable including compiling monthly A/R accounts’ invoices, A/R collections and A/P weekly bill payments. Preparing weekly cash flow for each company. Analyzing accounts for accuracy.

Processing A/R accounts credit card payments.

Preparation of year end 1099 information & year end information assembling for tax return

Bringing books to trial balance and analyzing for company’s CPA Firm to prepare annual tax returns.

Administering employee onboarding paperwork, tracking vacation & sick time, preparing payroll for biweekly processing and ensuring compliance.

Training and supervising junior bookkeeper.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Several years (e.g., 3-10+) in bookkeeping or accounting.

Software Proficiency: Expertise in accounting software (QuickBooks) and MS Excel.

Knowledge: Solid grasp of bookkeeping principles, accounting practices, and tax compliance.

Attributes: High accuracy, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

The job could be performed at multiple retail locations (Schenectady, Latham, Clifton Park, Saratoga).

Requirements Include:

-Be at least 18 yrs. old

-Have reliable transportation and willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the week

-Maintain a clean approachable appearance

-Be able to provide 2 forms of valid ID

-Be a US Citizen or be able to legally work in the US

-Being punctual for scheduled shifts.
