Overview

Moore National Facility Service is seeking a trustworthy, reliable, and skilled Handyman / Maintenance Technician to support a high-profile client across the Chicago metro area and Southern Wisconsin. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for professionals who take pride in quality workmanship, strong communication, and dependable service.

This role is ideal for experienced handymen, retired tradespeople, or technicians seeking consistent or supplemental work with a reputable national facilities company.

Scope of Work Includes (but is not limited to):

Minor plumbing repairs and troubleshooting

General handyman repairs and maintenance

Tile and grout repairs

Light fixture replacement and basic electrical fixture work (non-licensed scope only)

Caulking / sealing (fixtures, sinks, restrooms, etc.)

Leak repairs, clogs, and fixture replacements (within scope)

General facility support tasks as assigned

Compensation

$50 travel fee per job

$75 per hour, paid from check-in to check-out on each job

Some services may be paid at pre-approved flat rates, depending on scope

Parts are typically purchased by Moore National Facility Service

Emergency part purchases by the contractor will be reimbursed with approval

Requirements

Proven experience in handyman or maintenance work

Ability to respond to emergency service calls when available

Ability to meet SLA timelines on accepted work orders

Consistently deliver top-notch, professional-quality work

Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, for client interaction and accurate work order documentation

Strong on-site professionalism and attention to detail

Contractor Qualifications (Required)

Operate as a 1099 independent contractor

Own vehicle suitable for service work

Own tools and equipment required to perform the job

Ability to work independently while representing our company professionally

Independent Contractor Expectations

Upon onboarding as a 1099 independent contractor, technicians will represent Moore National Facility Service while on site. Contractors are expected to uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship, communication, professionalism, and ethical conduct when interacting with clients, staff, and facilities.

Licensing (Bonus, Not Required)

Plumbing or trade licensing is a plus, but not required

Insurance

Proof of active Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required upon hiring
