LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE CREW LEADER/LABORER

Must have 5 years experience in landscape maintenance.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader to oversee landscape maintenance and groundskeeping operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. This role involves supervising a team, ensuring the highest standards of landscape care, and managing various horticultural tasks, including irrigation, tree care, and garden maintenance.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily landscape maintenance activities to ensure quality and efficiency.

Lead a team of groundskeeping staff, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals.

Oversee the irrigation systems, ensuring proper installation and maintenance for optimal plant health.

Plan and execute landscape construction projects, including building new garden areas and installing hardscapes.

Maintain trees, shrubs, and flower beds through regular care practices such as pruning, fertilizing, and pest management.

Conduct regular inspections of the site to monitor plant health and overall landscape aesthetics.

Collaborate with clients to understand their landscaping needs and provide expert recommendations.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all landscaping operations.

Management of, and responsibility for multiple onsite crews.

Ensures jobs are completed safely within hours and budget

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing WestDeck's standards of quality.

Works closely with Executive Management team including Owners, Operations Manager, and professional staff

Maintains strong communication with general contractor's supervisor to protect Westdeck's interests

Performs related duties as assigned

Resolves crew problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions and recommending appropriate action

Accurate and timely completion of a variety of paperwork, employee time cards, etc.,

Qualifications

Proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping, with a strong understanding of horticultural practices.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.

Knowledge of common name plant identification and ability to properly layout to scale.

Ability to accurately forecast project schedule

Ability to accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning; monitoring; coaching; developing and building crew bench strength

Be self motivated and results driven

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Available after hours and on weekends for any emergency calls.

Knowledge of irrigation systems design, installation, and maintenance. Experience in installing variety of irrigation types/sizes, programming controllers & timers and ability to troubleshoot irrigation issues.

Experience in building landscapes, including hardscape elements such as patios or walkways.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all work performed.

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

A background in tree care practices is preferred but not mandatory.

Five years landscape construction/maintenance experience.

Valid Nevada Drivers License and the ability to be insured under company insurance policy with a clear 3 year MVR. (driving record)

Must be able to meet physical demands of the job

Bilingual a plus, but not required
