Construction Journeyman / Laborer – Painting, Tile, Drywall & Finish Carpentry Experience Preferred

We’re a licensed and bonded remodeling company based in Vancouver, WA & Portland, OR. We’re looking for a reliable Journeyman/Laborer to assist with ongoing residential remodels. Temporary through the end of August, with potential to become full-time based on performance and workload.

Job Overview

You’ll support our remodeling team from demo to finish. We’re especially interested in candidates with hands-on experience in painting, tile setting, drywall (tape/mud/sand), and finish carpentry (trim, doors, built-ins). This role requires stamina, precision, and a commitment to safe, high-quality work.

Responsibilities

Jobsite setup, cleanup, and organization

Load/unload tools and materials

Safely operate hand/power tools

Follow directions from project leads and supervisors

Painting: surface prep, masking, brush/roll/spray, clean lines, finish quality

Drywall: hang, tape, mud, sand, texture/patch to paint-ready

Tile: layout, cuts, setting, grout, waterproofing best practices

Finish Carpentry: casing/base/trim, doors, shelving, cabinet installs, punch-list details

Maintain a safe, clean work area at all times

Requirements

Reliable vehicle; able to meet at jobs in Vancouver and Portland

Construction/remodeling experience strongly preferred; trade skills in painting, tile, drywall, and/or finish carpentry are a big plus

Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor

Basic tool knowledge and jobsite safety awareness

Reliable, punctual, and a team player

Willing to work in all weather conditions

Own hand tools are required

Position Details

Pay: $18–$25/hour DOE

Hours vary by week—generally near full-time, with some lighter weeks based on workload
