Overview

MUST HAVE A DC LPN LICENSE.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, and acute care environments. As an LPN, you will play a critical role in supporting patients' health and well-being while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document medical histories.

Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and feeding.

Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Educate patients and their families about health management and wellness strategies.

Participate in discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care as needed.

Skills

The successful LPN candidate will possess a combination of essential skills, including but not limited to:

Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks EMR systems

Experience in critical care, long-term care, assisted living, or nursing home settings

Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical documentation

Competence in IV infusion, medication administration, venipuncture, and phlebotomy

Familiarity with acute pain management techniques and patient assessment protocols

Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia

Strong communication skills for effective patient education and family support

Basic life support (BLS) certification and knowledge of infection control practices

Experience in pediatrics or neonatal care is a plus
