Group Health, Safety and Environmental (EHS) Manager

What You Will Do:This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the safety and sustainability of our business, our people and the communities in which we operate. Occasional travel throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands will be required.Lead the development and implementation of Neptune Pacific’s Group EHS Strategy, driving a consistent approach to safety, health and environmental performance across New Zealand and the Pacific.Champion the transition from compliance-focused safety to a learning culture centred on Human & Organisational Performance (HOP), critical risk management and operational excellence.Lead the development and continual improvement of the Group EHS Management System, including standards, governance frameworks, assurance programmes and performance reporting.Partner with Country Managers, Operational Leaders and Site Leaders to ensure ownership of risk remains within operations while providing expert advice, challenge and support.Drive the Critical Risk Management programme, ensuring controls for high-consequence hazards are identified, verified, effective and consistently applied across the business.Lead the response to significant incidents and potential serious injury and fatality (PSIF) events, ensuring quality investigations, organisational learning and sustainable corrective actions.Build leadership capability at all levels through coaching, training, learning reviews, safety conversations and field engagement.Establish and oversee Group assurance activities, including audits, risk reviews, critical control verification and governance reporting.Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance obligations are understood and effectively managed.Lead, develop and support the wider EHS team across the network, creating capability, consistency and a culture of continuous improvement.Use data and insights to identify trends, manage risk exposure, measure effectiveness and support informed decision-making.Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and industry partners to promote safe and sustainable operations throughout the supply chain.
