Director, Sports Studio

The Director is responsible for coordinating the studio operation on and off the air for Versant Sports properties with a focus on Golf Channel Studio shows.Responsibilities:Direct multi-camera live and live-to-tape studio-based programsAbility to direct News, Talk, Sports and Special Event programsRequires a creative eye and the ability to plan and direct the audio and video aspects of television programs based on the specifications and knowledge of television programming techniquesCollaborate with Producers on creative for at-home and remote studios.Interpret scripts, block cameras and work with cast, crew and producersDirecting live shows without a script and minimal rundown support, especially during breaking news stories   Good working knowledge of video switchers and editingLead the control room and studio technicians before and during any live or live-to-tape program to keep them informed of the show’s rundown, camera shots, effects, playback order and other specific commandsCoordinate technical crew schedulesOversee the delivery and execution of all graphic and sponsorship playback elementsParticipation in all production, editorial and technical planning meetingsContribute ideas on how to improve all aspects of the production from creative to executionPerform on-site surveys for studio remote shows
