Location: Ann Arbor, MI Salary: Flexible W2 Hourly rate based on experience Description: 100% REMOTE POSITION: Our client is currently seeking a Server Engineer. This position will be responsible for planning and implementing the deployment of critical server infrastructure along with the maintenance of existing server infrastructure. Will be responsible for installing and configuring new virtual and physical servers. Other activities include configuring and maintaining backups and disaster recovery plans for critical infrastructure. Must have experience in Microsoft operating systems and server virtualization techniques. This server engineer will work closely with a Project Manager in order to ensure the proper setup and configuration of new locations. Responsibilities will include deployment of Dell hardware and network equipment. Responsibilities will also include the maintenance of existing server infrastructure, including supporting monitoring, additions, changes, and troubleshooting of ongoing issues. Job Responsibilities:
- Biomass server replacements
- Windows Server 2008 OS upgrades
- File and Print Server hardware replacements
- Plan and implement the deployment of critical server infrastructure to new plants
- Maintain existing server infrastructure. This includes monitoring and supporting additions, changes, and issues.
- Plan and implement the deployment of replacement hardware to newly acquired locations.
- Plan and implement the deployment of critical server infrastructure to newly constructed GSP plants
- Maintain existing server infrastructure. This includes monitoring and supporting additions, changes, and issues.
- Installation and configuration of VMWare hardware replacement.
- Installation and deployment of SolarWinds Orion suite to monitor critical server and networking infrastructure.
- Experience with IPv4 networking
- Proficient with server virtualization such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare
- Experience with Dell hardware and storage
- Expertise in multiple Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server 2019
- Microsoft certifications such as MSCA or MSCE is preferred
- Experience supporting Active Directory related operations
