Company Background: Our client, a major employer in the area, is looking for an

Aerodynamics Engineer to be part of its team in its North American operations.

Description:This position will work from home 75% and onsite 25% therefore this candidate must belocal

Job Description
  • Benchmarking using CATIA data, drawings, vehicles and test results
  • Conducting and documenting design review following established and new methodologies
  • Vehicle, system and component evaluation planning, testing and reporting
  • Utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to predict and visualize vehicle CD improvements, e.g. using DassaultPowerDelta/Flow/Viz/etc
  • Analyze results, propose and develop countermeasures to improve aerodynamics and/or wind noise performance
  • Establish and maintain detailed work plans to meet project deadlines

Requirements:

Required Technical Skills:
  • 1+ years' hands-on experience with vehicle mock-up for aerodynamic's evaluation
  • 1+ years' experience using pressure data acquisition equipment & analysis software
  • 1+ years' experience utilizing CATIA for part and system design review
  • Ability to read and understand component part and assembly drawings

General Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in aerodynamics/aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge and understanding of aerodynamic phenomena and analysis techniques
  • Aerodynamic CD testing experience in wind tunnel testing or via simulation
  • Proficiency in communicating technical data with clear conclusion in a visual format
  • Capability to follow established, and new processes, with attention to detail and completeness

Preferred:

Automotive OEM experience
  • 3+ years' vehicle aerodynamics or wind noise vehicle development experience
  • 3+ years' experience using ExaPowerFlow to predict vehicle CD
  • 1+ years' experience usingCATIA for 3D part generation
  • Knowledge and understanding of aeroacoustic phenomena
  • On-road or in wind tunnel wind noise testing experience
