- The Senior Java Developer shall have extensive experience in developing and maintaining high-performing Java applications.
- Has prime accountability for major projects and will develop detailed and robust designs, code, test, and implement proposed systems.
- The candidate will demonstrate API design experience and be willing to challenge other team member's designs as well as receive and incorporate feedback.
- The candidate will be responsible for creating maintainable, adaptable, scalable, defect-free code using software development best practices and coding standards (i.e. software reuse, refactoring, continuous integration, test automation, secure development, Test Driven Development, static code analysis, peer/code review).
- The candidate will analyze existing API services for their suitability for modification into an enterprise version.
- Based on product road maps, prioritize API services needed. The candidate will provide the development of Application Programming Interface (API) components to support agency application development.
- The candidate will build and test Enterprise APIs.
- The candidate will support unit and integration testing of applications, including accessibility and compliance with Section 508, browser compatibility.
- The candidate will provide advanced technical support with development and implementation of (API) components that enables projects to build and reuse code.
- The candidate will provide technical support in the adoption of API standards and governance.
- The candidate will support the agency API standards and governance. Provide technical writing support in the development and communications of API standards and governance.
- Experience with an API design tool such as WebMethods or Apigee (1 year)
- Spring Boot API (2-3 years)
- Experience in API design & API development (Minimum 2 years)
- Good understanding & knowledge of API security (Minimum 2 years)
- Spring MVC (2-3 years)
- Test Driven Development (TDD) (2-3 years)

- Exposure to writing Technical White Papers and systems design documents.
