Quality Paper Lab Tester

Kelly Services is Recruiting for a Temporary opportunity in Barnwell, SC

This opportunity should be for 3 months.

Pay 13 per hour.

12 hour Shifts

Quality Paper Tester

Principle Accountabilities:

Safely and accurately test finished products for adherence to workmanship and laboratory testing quality specifications

Communicate with appropriate crew members when products are out of spec or need to be improved to meet target quality standards

Assist with product trials and qualifications as needed - including sample collection, testing of finished products and reporting of data

Daily/weekly testing of reference materials for equipment calibration as dictated by corporate procedures

Oversee the re-dispositioning of jumbo rolls held for quality off the paper machine

Oversee dispositioning and communication of finished products held for quality off the converting lines

Encourage fellow employees to focus on safety, commit to completing at minimum one formal safety interaction each week

Housekeeping of work area

Must be able to problem solve and provide documented results in detail

Must have a sense of urgency

Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges

Must be reliable, responsible and dependable in fulfilling obligations

Work independently, reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision

Must be comfortable having open communication with production crews and management staff

Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality

Work Conditions & Physical Demands

Extended periods of walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching at or above shoulder level, stooping, crawling, climbing and kneeling.

Working in a busy environment with frequent interruptions

Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination

regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Working in a fast-paced environment with noise, dust, slippery surfaces, extreme heat/cold, with some exposure to outside elements

Frequent overtime may be required

Must be available to rotating shift, work weekends and holidays, overtime and call-ins if needed
