Job SummaryAs Controller, you will serve in multiple capacities, variably, including CFO, Senior Accountant, and Contracts Manager. The Senior Controller directs and oversees activities in the organization's accounting functions, which may include cost and general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable and establishes and implements strategies for reconciling accounts and reporting financial results. The Senior Controller also maintains responsibility for a variety of non-financial functions, to include 401k plan administration, contract and subcontract administration as well as real property leasing and business insurance needs.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as a direct report and advisor to the COO on financial and business issues, organizational issues, administrative/infrastructure issues and a wide array of tactical/strategic issues
  • Generate, review and approve monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Manage working capital and cash flow, credit and collections, cash flow forecasting and availability of funds
  • Direct preparation of annual/multi-year/interim budgets and forecasts
  • Strategically define and maintain indirect cost pools, establish forward pricing rate agreements, prepare and submit incurred cost submissions, and develop proposal cost volumes
  • Process semi-monthly payroll and 401-(k) deposits
  • Responsible for tax filings (federal, state and local) in conjunction with our Independent Accountant
  • Protect and safeguard the assets of the corporation by maintaining or establishing adequate and cost-effective internal control systems and procedures
  • Responsibilities in contract management, include the drafting, review, and execution of Non-Disclosure and Teaming Agreements and contracts and subcontracts, the management and reporting associated with the corporate GSA schedules and other contract vehicles

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Deep understanding of the FAR, cost principles, and the DCAA audit process
  • Experience with government contracts (FFP, CPFF, TM), and an understanding of Small Business Administration 8(a) Size Standards rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analytics and evaluation
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to plan and organize financial projects
  • Ability to communicate results of operations to a variety of stakeholders
  • Expert proficiency with Excel

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance. CPA or MBA
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate prior successful performance of each of the essential duties and must satisfactorily pass a background investigation
  • Experienced 5-7 years as a finance manager/director with proven capabilities managing the full spectrum of financial, and administrative functions in a government contracting company

  • The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) less than 15 lbs
  • This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
