Summary/Objective

Outstanding opportunity for a Manufacturing/Production Manager for an established furniture manufacturing company located in the Southeastern US. The Manufacturing/Production Manager ensures timely and efficient production and assembly of Office furniture including upholstery, wooden work surfaces and assembled laminate furniture. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

o Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements.

o Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy.

o Insure organization of all products in the warehouse and manage inventory.

o Review cost and activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement in order to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.

o Responsible for maintaining high standards related to the physical condition of warehouse and equipment.

o Other duties and special projects as requested.

o Assist in the training and supervision of the production crews.

o Assures facility readiness and smooth execution production of orders.

o Participate in all aspects of production.

o Drive practices and methods to provide a safe workplace for our employees.

o Drive practices and methods to ensure products meet quality standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

o Assists in the supervision of production crews and or temporary workers as assigned.

o Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

o Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to crew.

o Anticipates problems and formulates appropriate solutions.

o Promotes a safe working environment for all employees.

Required Qualifications

o Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays

o Able to stand for long periods, able to walk up and down steep stairs and ladders

o Occasionally required to kneel, climb to high walkways, catwalks, and gridded work areas

o Ability to lift, push and/or pull 50 pounds or more

o Strong practical experience and knowledge of manufacturing

o Ability to read, write and speak English (Spanish a plus)

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturing. The employee will need to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience

o High school diploma/GED is required

o Associates degree or post-secondary education preferred

o 5+ years of manufacturing experience

o Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
