Following the Original Roy's Restaurant in Hawaii Kai, Roy's opened on Maui 30 years ago. Now located at the Kaanapali Resort area, Roy's is surrounded by the famous West Maui mountains and among luxury accommodations, Kaanapali golf courses, and specialty shops and boutiques.

We are seeking an experienced server for our Roy’s Kaanapali location. Our servers play an important role in creating an upbeat, positive experience for our guests. Here are some important responsibilities and skills we are looking for:

Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about our menu. Anticipate and fulfill our guests needs.

Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials. Must be able to make recommendations based on the guests preferences.

Order Accuracy: Take accurate orders and communicate any special requests/dietary restrictions to the chef. Double-checking orders before serving to ensure accuracy.

Table Maintenance: Keep tables clean and well organized, removing empty plates and glasses promptly. Be able to reset tables efficiently for the next guest.

Wine Knowledge: Have a good understanding of the wine list, including wine pairings, and be able to make recommendations based on the guests preferences.

Handling Issues: Address the guests concerns/issues professionally and promptly, seeking assistance from management when necessary.

Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the chef and kitchen staff, food runners and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Skills:

Experience: Must possess a minimum of 2 years experience as a server is a casual/upscale restaurant is essential, be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of Roy’s service standards.

Communication: Strong verbal communication skills are crucial for interacting with the guests, kitchen staff and other team members.

Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation techniques, potential allergens and wines.

Selling Skills: Ability to suggest and sell items to enhance the dining experience.

Adaptability: Be flexible to changes in the restaurant environment and be able to handle high-pressure situations during busy periods.

Professionalism: Maintain polished and professional behavior adhering to Roy’s standards of service.

Multitasking: Juggle multiple tasks efficiently, such as taking orders, servicing tables, and managing customer inquiries.

Problem Solving: Be able to quickly and effectively address any issues that may arise during service, seeking solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Our servers should embody a combination of hospitality, professionalism, and a keen attention to detail to contribute to the overall success of Roy’s Restaurants.
