Job purpose

Come join our team at a strong, established, embedded computer peripherals manufacturer located in Sorrento Valley. We have a position available in our Production Test Department and are looking for a qualified Electronic Test Technician with a background in computer board testing, troubleshooting to the component level, and assembly. This individual must possess an exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work. We have been in business over 30 years and consider ourselves experts in the embedded and PC based data acquisition and control market. Our product offering includes a multitude of electronic products which offer our customers a variety of options for solving their real world industrial/scientific/military data acquisition and control needs.

This position is responsible for testing boards for shipments, repairing returned product, troubleshooting product failures, and assisting the engineering department with new product development. This position is backup for production testing.

Duties and responsibilities

Using standard electronic test equipment to include multi meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, frequency counters, and power supplies

Reading and understanding electronic schematics and multi layer circuit board assembly drawings

Board level testing, following test instructions, use of test fixtures and diagnostic computer

Analyze and repair RMA's.

Diagnosing any production failures by troubleshooting to the component level

Assist engineering with prototypes.

Use of operating systems, such as DOS, Windows, Linux and real time OS

Qualifications

Three years’ experience in the electronics field.

High School education or Equivalent required.

Computer literate.

Ability to multi-task between many different projects and tasks.

Must abide by all company policies and regulations.

Ability to read, speak, and understand English.

Able to perform basic math.

Should have a positive, collaborative attitude.

Complete all other duties the management deems necessary

Please note: A written test will be given during the interview with an emphasis of basic electronic theory, boolean logic, base 2 and base 16 number systems, TTL, CMOS, op amps, D/A and A/D conversion.
