JOB TITLE: Human Resources and Operations Manager

POSITION: Full-Time, 40 hrs/week, Exempt; some evenings & weekends

LOCATION: 2012 Pine Street, San Francisco, CA 94115

COMPENSATION: $80,000 - $90,000 + excellent benefits upon completion of a 3-month introductory period

JCYC is one of San Francisco’s most successful child and youth development organizations, annually serving over 6000 children and youth of all racial and socio-economic backgrounds. The organization provides services which focus on early childhood development, college access, youth development and youth workforce services. POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources and Operations Manager is a member of JCYC’s Executive Admin Team, managing JCYC's human resources, facilities, and administrative support. The Human Resources and Operations Manager ensures JCYC’s infrastructure is well-aligned to organizational goals, provides a positive working environment for agency staff, and manages infrastructure growth. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with the administrative team and agency staff. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled professional and strong team player who can effectively work closely with multiple stakeholders. She/He/They is able to maintain a calm and balanced demeanor regardless of circumstance and inspires confidence in others. She/He/They enjoys building new professional relations and working collaborating with a diverse population. She/He/They is detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources:

Oversees all Human Resource functions including day to day administration of benefits/compensation, recruitment/hiring/termination, policies and procedures, employee relations, personnel records, worker’s compensation, and performance management systems;

Ensures JCYC’s practices are in compliance with current employment laws and ordinances.

Advises and trains JCYC managers on employment law, policies and practices and supports resolution of HR issues;

Supervises JCYC HR Coordinator

Operations:

Oversees maintenance of facilities ensuring employee safety and ergonomic practices, compliance with CAL OSHA safety standards, security and general maintenance issues.

Administration:

Manages agency insurance requirements;

Supports internal communications to promote efficiency and collaboration;

Supervises JCYC Facilities Coordinator

Serve as a member of the JCYC Executive Administrative team.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

EXPERIENCE: Three plus years of progressive leadership experience in human resources management, with knowledge of employment laws and evidence of the practice of a high degree of confidentiality.

DESIRED SKILLS

Strategic planner with proven ability to assess organizational needs and to work hands-on to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate internal systems to increase organizational capacity.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with, motivate, guide and supervise staff.

High level of comfort and experience working with technology, with expertise in Excel and database management.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects, staff and priorities simultaneously.

Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.

Passion for JCYC’s mission and program work.

Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred
