Cross Cultural Family Center is seeking a human resources generalist for our early care and education agency serving low income neighborhoods in San Francisco. Our agency provides child care services to over 300 hundred families in San Francisco, and employs close to 100 staff members. The majority of staff are early care and education teachers. The Cross Cultural Family Center staff comprised of a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and reflect the demographics of our client communities.

Job Overview

As a primary member of the administrative team, the Human Resources Associate oversees hiring practices and maintain personnel files. The Human Resources Associate guides and supports teachers’ professional development ensuring that appropriate permits and credentials are up to date. In addition, the person in this position processes timesheets and maintains employment status records and files.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage staffing process, including outreach and recruitment, interviewing process, hiring.

2. Maintain personnel files and records.

3. Facilitate onboarding activities, ensuring adequate orientation and introductory support for all positions

4. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local hiring regulations and employee rights

5. Process timesheets for payroll activities and maintain and up-to-date record of vacation and sick leave

6. Work with Director of Children’s Programs to ensure that appropriate staff supervision and support activities meet the programmatic needs of our agency and are compliant with regulations

7. Provide support and guidance in professional development for individual staff, California Child Development permits and college degree attainment

8. Assist program leadership staff in preparation and delivery of staff development and training

9. Work with overall leadership team regarding the needs of the staff, including work conditions and benefits

10. Maintain personnel policies and work closely with program team regarding the Staff Handbook and job related support activities

11. Other activities associated with the role of the administrative leadership team, and or may specifically relate to human resources

Qualifications:

BA degree or greater in human resources management, business administration, or other relevant field

Minimum three years experience is job related position, ie: personnel management, human resources generalist

Demonstrated knowledge of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations

Computer skills required, ie: experience with Word, Excel, Filemaker, others.

Ability to participate in a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in academic and job counseling, a plus

Experience with California ECE teacher permit systems and requirements, a plus

Able to use personal vehicle for job related local transportation (mileage reimbursement applies)

Compensation:

Starting salary range: $87,360 – 104,000 to be negotiated based on education level and experience. Benefits include paid sick leave, vacation pay, health insurance and retirement.
