King David Tacos - Contract Driver, $35/HR

We are hiring Contract Drivers for our daily operations. This is a contract (1099) position. You must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a vehicle with a trailer attached IN REVERSE. The position is best suited for someone who lives near our headquarters in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. MUST BE AVAILABLE SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS.

DAYS / HOURS

- Monday-Sunday, AM route, drop off at Grand Army Plaza between 5:30am to 6:30am

- Monday-Sunday, PM route, pick up from Grand Army Plaza between 2pm-4pm

- Looking for a minimum of 2, maximum of 5 days per week, must be available weekends

- Total duration of each shift is approximately 1-1.5 hours, door to door

April 2024 UPDATE: We are currently looking for a driver for the PM route on Saturdays and Sundays from 3:45PM - 4:45PM

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Loading and unloading light equipment (coffee urns, etc.)

- Proper and safe attachment of the trailer hitch from vehicle to food cart

- Carefully driving a large vehicle with trailer and cart attached IN REVERSE

- Answering your phone and staying in communication with the Manager on Duty via text message and/or phone calls, safely and as-needed

- Assuring our cart is delivered to the Grand Army Plaza location during the designated time window

The ability to communicate consistently, calmly, and continuously is required for success in this job!

REQUIREMENTS

- Drivers License with a clean driving record, active Auto Insurance

- Timeliness

- A vehicle with 6000lb towing capacity is a plus!

- Able to physically perform requirements of job, including ability to safely lift up to 50-70lbs and safely operate wheeled carts and dollies

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

- $45 for each route (AM or PM) if in your own vehicle (6000lb tow capacity required)

- $35 per route, reduced rate if using our vehicle
