Junior Interior Designer

Reports To: Design Director & CEO
Overview: Design assistant collaborate with the design director, co-workers, vendors, contractors, and clients to find solutions that accomplish the clients' design goals.
Description:
· Developing shop drawings, interfacing with manufacturers to insure proper outcomes
· Creating bill of materials (BOM) with cost and selling price estimates based on margin guidelines.
· Creating accounts, estimates, invoices and packing lists on QuickBooks.
· Attending meetings, understanding client needs and requirements then to fulfill as needed.
· Scheduling and coordinating meetings with clients.
· Modifying existing design services agreements to meet scope of client.
· Creating designs that fall within cost and selling price budget ranges
· Specifying finishes and all elements to be used in designs
· Creating finish mockup boards and providing to clients for review and input
· Developing/designing/revising product drawings
· Developing client ideas through concept, design, budgeting and manufacturing
· Developing shop drawings, electrical plans and installation guides.
· Creating floor plans from information received from clients.
· Assist Designers throughout the design process with CAD drawings and 3d modeling.
· Research of lighting, various materials, accessories and more
· Produce sourcing and order placements
· Preparing, managing and maintaining all project binders, files, correspondence, drawings
· Working closely with the team to ensure work is created
· Corresponding with signage and digital departments to ensure work is being done.
· Ability to field and address client questions in a timely and accurate manner
· General office tasks including filing, answering phones
· Running light errands as needed
· Other duties as required
· Contribute positively to team dynamic, a team player who is also a solution driver and efficiency advocate
Other Responsibilities:
· Visit optometric practices/other relevant retailers a minimum of 1-2 days/month to broaden
· understanding of traffic flow, design needs, new concepts, etc.
· Attending key conferences + client meetings 4-6x / year
· Creative, organized thinking + managing time properly
· Using CRM software to start projects, receive direction; communicate progress, and schedule/maintain
· To-Dos
· Client and internal communications
· Delivering sellable designs within the timelines detailed in client agreements
· Visiting vendors to insure quality standards are being met
· Any other design or production related duties requested by management
Software Requirements:
· Rhinoceros 3d
· AutoCAD
· Adobe Illustrator
· Adobe Photoshop
· QuickBooks (not required but a plus)
· Basecamp – CRM (not required but a plus)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
