Description We are offering a role within the healthcare industry, specifically in hospitals and social assistance, located in Syracuse, New York. The function of this job is a Medical Scheduler, providing administrative and scheduling support. The role is on a contract basis. Responsibilities: Manage the operational aspects of member documentation mailing process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials. Coordinate and schedule enrollment assessments for Assessment RNs, ensuring efficient communication and scheduling. Maintain up-to-date schedules for the Assessment RNs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with Care Management Supervisory staff to address and resolve assessment scheduling issues and concerns. Provide courteous and knowledgeable customer service to both internal and external customers, ensuring clear and effective communication. Manage various reports within EHR as directed, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Participate actively in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities, contributing to the overall enhancement of service quality. Assist various departments with member contacts, faxing, mailing, scanning, and other administrative tasks as needed. Perform clerical duties, such as filing, typing, copying, faxing, and taking messages, as directed by supervisor. Utilize skills in Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, MEDITECH, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, About Time, Billing Functions, Clinical Trial Operations, Customer Service, and Data Entry.This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the healthcare sector, using a range of skills to support the smooth operation of a busy healthcare facility. Requirements Possess proficiency in Cerner Technologies and MEDITECH systems Experience with EHR SYSTEM is essential Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suites Familiarity with About Time software is required Knowledge of Billing Functions within the healthcare sector Experience in Clinical Trial Operations would be advantageous Excellent Customer Service skills are necessary Proficiency in Data Entry tasks is required Prior experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting is preferred Ability to multitask and handle high-volume scheduling tasks effectively Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities Ability to work independently and with a team Flexibility to work in different shifts if necessary Understanding of medical terminologies and procedures is an asset High school diploma or equivalent education level. Higher education in a related field would be beneficial Familiarity with healthcare regulations and medical laws Ability to maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
