Growing together.  The Senior Claims Representative is responsible for the follow up of outstanding Accounts/Receivables of all payers and/or including self-pay and/or including resolution of denials. This position is responsible for handling all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability and includes the ability to interpret and rectify denials.This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer 4 weeks of paid training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for insurance denials, appeals and timely filing guidelines

Make appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked to maximize reimbursement

Meet productivity standards as outlined in client metrics

Identify any issues or trends and bring them to the attention of management team

Work on special projects as assigned

Train others and quality assurance work of others as assigned

Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma / GED

2+ years of experience with healthcare insurance denials and appeals

2+ years of Accounts/Receivable experience in a hospital, clinic, primary care, doctor’s office, or related healthcare environment.

Experience with Microsoft Office Products

Ability to work 08:00AM – 05:00PM EST.

Must be 18 years of age OR older

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (including but not limited to Epic, Cerner, and/or Meditech)

Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish

Ability to navigate payer portals and internet application

Working knowledge of insurance plans and coordination of benefits (COB)

Read and understand explanation of benefits (EOB), and take appropriate next steps toward resolution

Telecommuting Requirements:

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.

Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
