Structural engineer, 7+ years experience

We are a 10 years old boutique structural engineering firm in the Bay Area, located in San Francisco. Our structural engineer is leaving us unexpectedly due to a family emergency (sadly) by August 1st.

We are looking for a local structural engineer to replace him and help us with our projects. Ideal start date is any day but at the latest early/mid August.

The position requires the following:

- Good experience with residential buildings, especially wood-frame construction. Experience on remodeling & seismic strengthening projects are a plus.

- Proficient in AutoCAD in 2D plans (a must).

- Offered position is full time, not part time. 40 hrs/week.

- Capability to work on his/her own, remotely, flexible hours, make your own schedule.

- Local engineers preferred so they can do site visits if required. Expected # of site visits is 2/4 site visits per week whether for inspection during construction or to check a new project.

The position is contract base and the compensation ranges from $120k-140k/annually + bonuses, depending in the candidate/the experience. We pay more (than market average) for the right person for quality and reliable work.

THE MUST - Meeting deadlines, being professional and having good communication skills! You make your own schedule and can work remotely BUT we expect you to be a responsible professional and finish the projects/tasks on time.
