This includes prudent underwriting and effective credit and risk administration with particular emphasis on adherence to credit policy and requirements, financial analysis/modeling, risk evaluation, on-going portfolio maintenance activities, data integrity, portfolio reporting and client support. Collaborate with Relationship Manager to identify credit worthy projects within targeted markets and assist in the prioritization of relationship calling strategies.Supplement analysis with portfolio data, research and property level evaluation from a wide variety of internal and external sources to develop an assessment of client, competitor, property segment, market and industry risks and trends.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollowing is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Responsible for leading the due diligence, developing credit underwriting and structuring on new money, renewals and reviews, making independent recommendations based on assigned components of the deal. Acts as author and creates initial view of risk based on experience and skills.

Works independently and with Portfolio Manager researching and qualifying prospects and underwriting new opportunities. Applies understanding of credit risk to evaluate and recommend new requests balancing risk /return for the Bank.

Completes performance and monitoring activity for assigned portfolio to include overall portfolio management, client risk assessments, required risk monitoring activity and understanding of current industry and market trends.

Serve as a client and internal point of contact in managing assigned portfolio. (May include site visit and/or visit with client management team)

Serves as source of real estate underwriting knowledge and expertise, which includes understanding of current industry and/or market trends.

Responsible for leading credit presentation preparation and discussions with Credit Officer and other final approvers.

Mentors and coaches Portfolio Analyst.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Possess appropriate Investment Banking licensure including Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State License)

4+years of experience in underwriting, portfolio administration or commercial loan credit decision-making

Experience in underwriting, structuring and closing direct and syndicated loan transactions (e.g. $25MM to $250MM+)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of credit principles.

Ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints.

Demonstrated success working in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate of Truist or legacy Development Program

5 Years of portfolio management and client relationship experience preferably in Commercial Real Estate related industries.

Intermediate knowledge of ARGUS software; high level Excel modeling and analysis tools, including expertise in use of 3rd party Real Estate Data Sources (CoStar, REIS, Axiometrics)

Familiarity with loan documentation, covenants, Corporate Accounting and financial statement reporting including analysis of financial statements

Completion of commercial associate program or equivalent experience; Master’s degree in Accounting, Real Estate Finance, MBA or related field or an equivalent combination of educational and experience or other related advanced degree.
